This is a land of water and privacy.
The house sits 200 feet off the road and you are completely surrounded by
woods and green. In summer, you can barely see the house from the road (which
is a two-lane rural road). Some of the pictures here were taken in Winter,
and some in Summer, so you can get a good feel for what the property looks
like in different seasons. It is a fairyland in Summer.
The house is mostly all wood (wood floors throughout except for the kitchen and downstairs bathroom). Part of the house was built in the 1920s and part of it was built in 1980. BIG windows throughout to let in the light and the green in every room. We heat primarily with a wonderful Lopi wood stove which is located
in the living room. We are very comfortable in our kitchen, living room,
and upstairs rooms when the fire is going. Also, in these rooms there
are electric wall heaters. There is a second wood stove in the "Great
Room." For the back of the house (the dining room, downstairs bathroom,
great room, what we now use as a guest room), you can use the electric
furnace as well. |
