We have saved the best for last.
We have our own water supply, a gravity-fed water system that is piped in
from an underground stream to holding tanks, and then piped down into the
house. Because we own all the land above it, you will not have to worry
about someone building above you and polluting your water. Because it is
an underground stream, it has a natural filtration system that keeps the
water clean. It is vibrant, sweet, and there is so much of it that a constant
overrun is going 365 days a year. It is such a privilege to have free, sweet
water to bathe in and drink. The maintenance is straightforward and typically
takes about 14 hours a year - a spring and fall cleaning of the tanks.
The woods are alder, and some cedar. There are fruit trees (both miniature and standard) on the property. There are rhodies, azaleas, etc. Two giant cedars guard the front of the house; we have a very rare, very old yew tree as well as some most rare black walnuts. I forgot to mention the hot tub and sauna. |
